User Experience
2021
human-centered design / figma / prototyping / ui design
The details of this project has been kept at a high level, please reach out to me for more details.
Problem Statement
Bankers need a way to identify solutions that will address the needs of potential clients quicker and with more success than they do today.
The name of this project was based on the experience of picking out a new tent and only being asked a couple of questions to be paired with the perfect option for you.
My Role
I worked on this project with a team of skilled designers, engineers and project managers.
I conducted research, distilled insights from these interviews and translated that into a final design.
Main Learnings
This was one of the first projects I worked on at JP Morgan Chase. I had the opportunity to digest a complicated subject matter and produce a simplified final experience for the user.
In this project, I was also able to work on my stakeholder management skills and my research techniques.
Research
Internal Research
We conducted generative research with a group of internal bankers. From this, we could understand their current workflow, where they would like to see improvement and what features needed to be present in the final design.
Competitive Research
We also gathered examples of analogous products that we could take inspiration from. For example, ‘How did Peleton solve the challenge of making an undesirable task (working out) more fun?’
Prototyping
Journey Map
I created a journey map that charted the current experience for bankers, from initial interaction to their final recommendations. This map illustrated key touchpoints, pain points, KPIs and areas for improvement.
Figma Prototype
The journey map served as a guiding light throughout the prototype development process, ensuring that the final product was rooted in a deep understanding of the user journey. Through iterative prototyping and user testing, the prototype evolved to better align with user expectations and desires.
Proof of Concept
We developed an Excel proof of concept (POC) that was distributed for use by bankers in their daily tasks of pinpointing product recommendations for clients. Their input from utilizing this tool significantly influenced the final prototype design.
The final clickable prototype encapsulated the insights we unearthed and garnered highly favourable feedback from senior management. The discoveries from this project continued to influence numerous projects across various segments of the bank.
If you are interested in seeing the prototype and final designs please reach out and I would be happy to share them with you.
